CORMACK, FAIRBAULT, MCCALL posted by Bebe Garcia on Wednesday, April 9, 1997

I am searching for the ancestors of CORMACK MCCALL. He was born November 1, 1836, in Monaghan, Ireland, and died in the summer of 1915 at Fairbault, Minnesota. In 1861 he was married to Honorah Crowley. Cormack was one of the pioneers of Fairbault, having settled there around 1865. He purchased his homestead in Fairbault from Alexander FAIRBAULT. He had a part in the construction of some of the most prominent buildings in Fairbault, among the most prominent were the Episcopal Cathedral, Shumway Chapel and Shumway Hall at Shattuck School, and the first building constructed at the school for the feeble-minded, Seabury Hall and Johnston Hall at the Seabury Divinity School and Mott Hall at the School for the Deaf. Also, he cut the stones for the old First National Bank Building, located at 3rd & Central, and the Public Library located at 1st & 2nd. Any inforation about Cormack McCall would be greatly appreciated.

AUGUNSON, ERICKSON, KVAM, QUAM posted by Jean R. Legried on Sunday, April 20, 1997

I am looking for a Norwegian family who seems to have vanished into cyberspace!  They were on the 1870 and 1880 census in Richland Twp, Rice Co. and they can be found in the Holden, Moland and Gol church records until 1894.  Then they disappear.  None of them are buried in the Moland cemetery.  This is the family:         Augun Erickson Kvam, b. ca1827, Hafslo, Norway         m. date unknown to Anna Jacobsdtr., b. 1832, Aurland, Norway                 1. Anna, b. ca1861, Norway                 2. Erik, b. 1864, baptized at Holden                 3. Jacob, b. 1866, baptized at Holden                 4. August, b. 1869, baptized at Holden                 5. Anne Marie, b. 1871, baptized at Holden                 6. Karen, b. 1874 I don't know if the used the surname KVAM or QUAM or ERICKSON or AUGUNSON.  I have searched the 1900 Soundex for Minnesota and several surrounding states but haven't found a trace of any of them.  What can you suggest for further research?
