Counties: Faribault and Rice Any information about Alexander FARIBAULT, prominent 19th century fur trader, esp. the name of the Native American woman he married, her native (and white, if mixed) lineage; and any possible Native ancestors that Faribault himself may have had. I also know that Victoria Faribault, one of his daughters or granddaughters, married into the Joinville family, and would like to know her birth, marriage information, and who her children and grandchildren were.
Fairbault - Rice County, Minnesota - We've worked hard in finding data on this lineage and finally came up with something. Wharton HALL bought 160 acres of land 4/1/1858 and his son William HUTTON bought 40 acres of land 6/8/1859. Wharton Hall's wife name was Louisa (Luisa?) and was from the Mandan Indian tribe. They had children, Leonard, Ellen, Martha and Mary. Mary married William Hutton. Mary was born in Fairbault, MN. I don't know the geography or how to read the information I have but it says L_O_CODE: Brownsville on William Hutton's land purchase and L_O_CODE: Winona for the Hall purchase. Are these also in Rice County? I'd appreciate any guidance or help you can give me. Thank you so much! Penni Fox

I am currently researching my mother's side of the family, I have found information of my 3rd Great-Grandfather Elroy Pemberton AMY, being one of the founders of Canistota, SD. The next older information I can find is an 1870 census index listing an Elroy AMY in the Cannon City twp, in Rice County. This Census is also listing the following in the same town and county: Allen AMY, Almer (Elmer) AMY, Calvin AMY, Chester AMY, Emma AMY, Isaac AMY, Lydia AMY, Nancy AMY, Oren AMY, Susan AMY. I have already figured out that Oren and Elroy were probably brothers, as they both show up in Canistota at the same time. Any information on this bunch of AMYs will be greatly appreciated by myself and especially my mother.
I am researching and would appreciate any information on the persons, ancestors, or descendants of the following: Antoine KASPER b,1841 Bohemia, d. 1888 Faribault, wife Teresa b. 1842 Bohemia, d. 1916 Faribault. Children: Antony, George, John, Anna, Willie and my grandfather Charles William Kasper. I think Antoine's parents were Joseph and Julia KASPER of Owatonna, MN.
Looking for ancestry, descendency, or other record of John C. MORROW of Faribault, Minn., who was party to a property sale in Mazomanie, Dane County, Wis., in 1868. In the Minnesota Gazetteer and Business Directory of 1872, published by H.E. Newton & Co., the Faribault listings include "Morrow, J.C., attorney at law." Presumably, this J.C. Morrow is the same person as the John C. Morrow, identified above. (For those who may be interested, the 1872 Minnesota directory is in the library collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison). Any help appreciated. Duncan Morrow

I am interested in any and all information about the JOHNSON and OLSEN Families in the vicinity of Northfield. Andreas and Karen Maria JOHNSON and daughter Ingeborg Maria JOHNSON migrated there from Muskego Wisconsin shortly before the Civil War. Andreas and Karen Maria were from Porsgrund, Norway and immigrated in 1850. Ingeborg was born in Muskego in 1854. Ingeborg has four brothers and three sisters - I do not know any of their names. Ingeborg married an Even OLSEN on June 5, 1874. They resided in the vicinity of Northfield until about 1883 when they moved to North Dakota. Three children, Karen Maria (or Marie), Aneta A. and Oliver E. OLSEN were all born while the family was still near Northfield I would greatly appreciate any help in developing further information. Of particular interest to me is the names of Ingeborg's seven siblings - but I am interested in everything.
