OLSEN posted by Marcia Johnson on Wednesday, February 3, 1999

I am searching for the burial place of my great- grandfather, SIMEN OLSEN (Olstad), who came from Norway on the ship "Hanna Parr" in 1868 to Quebec after a long trip because of a storm. According to family history, he died shortly after arriving and is buried near Northfield. With a name like that it will be a miracle if I find out where he ended up!! Maybe your ancestors came with him on this ship from Gusdal Parish in Oppland County of Norway. Thank you.

HOFFMAN, OTT posted by Darrren Hoffman on Tuesday, February 9, 1999

Hi, my name is Darren Hoffman. I just started researching the Hoffman family tree. I have learned that some of my relatives (Michael Hoffman, John Hoffman, and Wilhelmina (Ott) Hoffman) are buried in Deerfield,MN. Does anybody know how I would go-about finding the names of the people buried at Hoffman Cemetery? I am assuming that is where they are buried, I could be wrong though. I think John and Michael were brothers. I was told that John came to Minnesota in 1867, with his family. He had an uncle that had come over in 1849. I not sure when they died. Is it likely that they are buried at Hoffman Cemetery, given the dates? I would be eternally grateful if you could maybe point me in the right direction.
