FINLAYSEN, FINLAYSON, FINLEYSON posted by Tara Charter on Wednesday, May 12, 1999

FINLAYSON - Are you a descendant of the Finlaysons of Rice County from 1940 or before? I found a listing of William and Charlotte Finlayson (who were 68 and 56) on the 1910 census of Forest Twnshp. 6 sons are listed: Charles, Raymond, William, Clifford, Sidney, and Clyde. I believe other Finlaysons came with William, Sr. from Canada, such as Martha and Margaret. Looking for family photos, obits, relatives...

LEMIEUX posted by Audrey LeMieux on Sunday, May 16, 1999

I am looking for the date of death of Damase Lemieux. He was married to Marie Eloise Blais and she died in Faribault , Rice Co.,MN on6 Sep 1930 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery. Apparently there is a head stone that says Thomas Lemieux but with nothing on it. There is a 1910 census that lists Marie and 5 or 6 children but does not list Damase (Thomas) so perhaps he died before then. Perhaps in Shieldsville before they moved to Faribault. Also in Marie's obituary there is no mention of her three youngest children so perhaps they died at an early age. They are Phillipe B: 24 May 1884, Jean Babtiste B: 13 Apr 1886, and Marie Antoinette B: 30 Oct 1888. Your help in finding this information would be great. Any cost to this please let me know. Sincerely , Audrey LeMieux

I am looking for someone who may live near the Cannon City area in Rice County. I would like to get a photograph of my 3rd great grandfather's tombston in Cannon City Cemetery. His name is Mastain M. Miles. According to the Dalby database, the headstone location is "9". I am not sure what that references to, maybe a map in the book, which I don't have. I would be willing to pay costs or swap for research in Texas. Thanks in advance, Norm
