BAKKE, EVENSDATTER, GRONDALEN, OLESEN, OLSDATTER, SCHULBORSTAD posted by Margit Bakke on Tuesday, May 2, 2000

Hello All, I found my Bakke's emigrating from Norway in 1851 on the Bark Emanuel from Bergen to New York. http://www.museumsnett.no/mka/ssa/emanu-51.htm I did some more searching and found a Sigrid Evensdatter b. June 14, 1812 and christened June 19, 1912. Parent's are listed as Even Michelsen and Sigri Olsdatter, Grondalen, Hemesdal, Buskerud, Norway. I also find a marriage record for Ole Knudsen and Sigri Olsdatter on June 4, 1837 in Hemesdal. I know that in 1880 they were living in Kenyon, Goodhue county, Minnesota (Ole Olesen Bakke the youngest below, his wife, 3 kids and his mother Sigri E. Bakke 67 years old listed as a widow. From there, they went to Minot, ND for about 3 years and then ended up in Fertile, Minnesota in 1891. (Think some might have gone to Rice County) Ole Olesen Bakke is my husband's direct line. Am wondering what happened to Knud, Guri, Sigrid and Even? Anyone have any matches? Mange Takk, Margit 124 Ole Knudsen Bakke 41 m Farmer Norway 125 Sigrid Evensdatter Bakke 39 f Farmer Norway 126 Knud Bakke 12 m Farmer Norway 127 Guri Bakke 8 f Farmer Norway 128 Sigrid Bakke 6 f Farmer Norway 129 Even Bakke 3 m Farmer Norway 130 Ole Bakke 6 months m Farmer Norway

PLUMMER posted by Linda Roehmholdt on Thursday, May 11, 2000

I'm just starting out on some family research and don't know a whole lot about the whole genealogy 'thing', so please forgive me if I'm not following the correct format or something. :) My grandmother's maiden name was PLUMMER and I'm interested in finding out more about that side of our family. Here is all the info I have so far. My grandmother's father: Dr. Rodney S. PLUMMER b. 1850 in New Hampshire, d. 26 September, 1922 in Topeka, KS. He also lived in Minnesota and Indiana before settling in Kansas. He had a brother: Rev. Charles H. PLUMMER (Episcopalian minister) b. 1845 in New Hampshire, d. 21 JUN 1926 LAKE CITY, MN Apparently they both lived in Minnesota for a time with Rev. Charles H. PLUMMER remaining there while Rodney S. PLUMMER moved to IN and then on to KS. I have this MN census info on both of these brothers: 1870 Census Rice County, MN Rodney S. Plummer, Fairbank Village 1870 PLUMMER CHARLES Rice County MN Northfield I also have this info on Charles PLUMMER: Protestant Episcopal Church Clerical Dir., 1898 Year became Deacon - 1867 Residence in 1898 - Lake City, MN Any help in finding out any info on these Plummers, such as where in New Hampshire they came from before coming to Minnesota and who the parents were would be most appreciated. Thanks for your help! Linda I have census records from Rice Co. Minnesota showing that both Rod I have absolutely no idea who Rodney and Charles' parents were. I do know they were born in New Hampshire. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully someone on the list has run across something to help me out. Thanks a lot, Linda Roehmholdt
